And here is a card I made for the Birthday Sundae Challenge and you can find it HERE  The theme is Spring and it must include a birthday sentiment.  The birdhouse is from the Spring Bird set at SVGcuts.com, flower paper by Paper Pizazz (pastel mini flowers) pink sparkle by Core'dinations (Stiletto pink) both from Joann's,  black 6x6 card inked the edges with white then sprayed with Frost Shimmer Spritz (love that stuff!) and the saying reads "Wishing you a Fabulous Birthday" by Verve.

Ok I don't usually notify people of sales, coupons, etc...however yesterday I happened upon a site for SVG cut files (and many other formats) called My Scrap Chick  click here  (this is the link to the $1 page).  The sale is 60% off a $20 purchase.  I know that sounds like a lot at first but there's one package that is so worth it called 30 boxes and more click here  .  You get 30 boxes, 12 card shapes and 12 box windows with frames.  So that alone covers the $20 on sale for $12.  Even the $1 files end up being .40!  I think I got 14 of those!  And if you sign up for their newsletter you can get a freebie on Fridays  :)  Who can resist a free SVG file?  Not me!!   I just bought Make the Cut last month and I just haven't had the time or desire to try to create my own files...even when I had Cricut Design Studio a few years ago the same thing happened!  LOL!  I must say I prefer the MTC over DS anyway.  Hopefully I'll get some projects posted soon from the 72 files I have to choose from!  Wow and all for $17!!   I'm off to craft now.....hugs!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge

The challenge this week at Fantabulous Cricut is to make a card, decoration, etc with a birthday theme.  I used the Wild Card cart for the scalloped card cut at 4" George for the squares and Accent Essentials for the negative image of the scalloped circle. The bird is an SVG (Spring Birdhouses) from www.svgcuts.com, flower from Michael's $1 bin and stamps by Verve.  The yellow CS is Bazzil it's shimmery and the flower CS is an older one called Let's Pretend - Tea Party by Imaginisce.

This is the inside, there's a pocket for a gift card.  Sentiment stamp by Verve.  I have such problems with the lighting.  I'm in the basement so no natural light.  I think I'll set up my OTT-lite where I take pics...hmm...I'll try that.  If anyone has any suggestions let me know!  :)

Birthday cards

Well I've finally had a chance to sit down and make some cards! This is the card I've chosen for the Birthday Sundaes Challenge found here:  http://birthdaysundaes.blogspot.com/2011/03/our-1st-challenge.html

This I made for a male co worker.  The stamp is by Stampendous (Asian Collection).  I stamped it on a piece of material which is like suede and it has a texture to it.  I used StazOn ink.  It stamped lightly so I had to go over it with a Sharpie which made a huge difference.  I just can't get the lighting right...so frustrating.

I love this House Mouse stamp, colored with chalks and then I used Stickles on the confetti.  Have I mentioned how much I love the Crystal and Stardust Stickles??  LOL!!

Hello Kitty for a friend...yes she's in her 30"s and loves Hello Kitty...good thing she has a little girl!  LOL!  Kitty is a Sizzix die, I ran the bow through the Cuttlebug with the swirl folder then used Stickles.  the felt flower w/gem is from Michael's dollar bin.  The paper is old and I don't remember who makes it but I did get it at Joann's I think.  The metal candle piece I got from an old neighbor who used to make them where she worked.  That was a real score  :)  I used a scallop edge punch on the bottom.  The inside sentiment reads "Some people never grow up! Happy Birthday!"

Here is the same fabric.  It really isn't this bright orange in person.  I stamped it but didn't go over this one with Sharpie.  I put Stickles on the cup/steam.  I don't remember who makes this coffee/tea stamp set but I just recently bought it at Joann's and threw out the insert.  I'll have to start writing the co. name on the sets.  The paper is from an old paper stack.  The black corners are a scalloped Spellbinders square cut diagonally.  And I inked the edges in black.

St. Patrick's Day Treats

This is a sign I made for my daughter Shianne.  She mentioned once that she liked this saying and when I got it in a Verve stamp set (called Blessings)  I knew I would use it for her somehow.  The bear stamp is by Judith and colored with chalks.  Lower corners was a Spellbinders square cut diagonally.  Ribbon from Joann's and the glitter cardstock by DCWV.

This container had tootsie rolls in it left over from Valentine's day but I took them out and put green M+M's in it.  The bear is a very old stamp from DJ Inkers.  I love her bears!!  Guess I just like bears in general LOL.  I used chalks again, my preferred method of coloring images in.

And now for the yummy stuff  :)  I used Spellbinders for the scalloped square and the circles.  Shamrocks were cut from an SVG file on my Make the Cut and Cricut.  The Irish sayings are stamps that I had made many years ago when I was doing craft shows and renting retail space.  I have several more and I just love them!

The lighting is terrible but I was trying to get close up so you could read the phrases.  On the circle I inked the edges in gold.  The shimmer green paper I bought at Joann's along with the ribbon.
