Watercolor flowers

It's time for another Through The Craftroom Door challenge!
This week we are sponsored by

Here is my DT card

I water colored two pieces of paper (blue/purples and green) then printed the digi.  I "fussy cut" the flowers and leaves out and glued the pieces on top of an image printed on white CS.  Just like a puzzle!  LOL!  The plum paper is from DCWV Shimmer Stack, the white with glitter design CS was a scrap I bought from a stamp store.  I used the Sizzix scalloped die and the Dainty Bow die by MFT.

The centers of the flowers are micro beads by Martha Stuart.  I put some Glossy Accents then poured the beads over it.  I did three layers this way so it is raised up.  I wrapped some cloth floral wire around the end of my pin tool and tucked them under the flowers secured with a little Glossy Accents (I love that stuff!!).  The crystals are Jolee's Hotfix Crystals.

I really like how this came out.  Let me tell you it's not easy fussy cutting water color paper!  LOL!  I hope you can stop by and see what my talented DT members have created or maybe you could join us at TTCRD for our Anything Goes Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Kathi

Representing the US

Hi everyone,
This week at  613 Avenue Create we have our usual Anything Goes challenge but I've added a twist to use your country's flag colors in your design.  We are sponsored by
Rick St. Dennis and I've used an image called Myataki.

I used Glossy Accents to add some marble/seed beads

close up of beads attached with Glossy Accents, it's

I made myself something!

I don't know about you guys but I very rarely make myself anything.  Well the challenge at JDE is the color challenge to use red, blue and purple.  Also we are being sponsored this week by A Day for Daisies digi stamps.  I just love this image called Growing in a Snowglobe.  I decided to make something to hang on my office door, the finished size is 8 x 10.
The black and blue paper bases were cut from a banner file which was a free weekly set from Designs on Cloud 9.  The Scalloped border is a Spellbinders die with the Jolee's Hotfix crystals.  The ribbon is stiff and sparkly and was very easy to stamp on.  The letters are from a CTMH set called Chocolate Alphabet small.
I used Copics E00 and E000 for her skin and Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol for everything else, Stickles on her wings and center of flowers, I used PearlEx #673 interference violet inside the snowglobe (doesn't show in pictures though!)

Ok so here is my "goof".  I was almost done and below is the original border with the additional die used to cut the hearts and dots which was fine until I decided to to fill them with Stickles.  I was so not happy with the result and mad at myself for "ruining" and almost finished project.  I'm sure you've been there LOL!  Anyway I decided to cover it with another scalloped piece and added the Jolee's crystals.  I am much happier with the final result!  Whew!

Jackson's Digital Expressions CAS Challenge

Here is my card for the CAS Challenge this week at Jackson's Digital Expressions Blog.

I just love this image titled Growing Old Together.  Here is the original image:
I cropped the image very close.  Now I feel like the image represents my husband and I...a younger version of the original image!  You can't tell that they are an older couple.  Maybe in 20 years I'll remake the card to resemble us then  :)

I used my new favorite technique.  The same as the last project...Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol with the blending stumps.  I love the papers they are from a DCWV pad called Cotton Bloom Stack.  There are 48 pages and 1/2 of them are glittered and I only paid $5.99 for it!  Guess where I bought it?  Believe it or not TJ Maxx!!  In their home goods section they have some crafting supplies!  I've also found supplies at their sister store Marshall's.  The sentiment is from Verve and it's hard to tell but I stippled the oval with a teal and then light gray ink.  So come check out the other Design Team members creations and join us for this week's CAS Challenge HERE!

Thanks for stopping by!   Kathi

Verve's Diva Dare

This is my entry for Verve's March Diva Dare and the theme is Color Me Spring.  Verve's Diva Dare

I'm still working on that lighting...the colors are much warmer than they appear. The card is 6x6 on Bazzill Rope Swing CS, the floral and striped  CS from the Nana's Nursery collection by DCWV.   Scalloped square, oval + gable box are all SVG's  from My Scrap Chick (the 30 box set remember the enabler alert) and I tucked the sides of the box in under the handles. The birdhouse, flowers and paper ribbon are from the Spring Birdhouse collection at SVGcuts.com.  A Cut Above Dies "charming oval" and "flutterby" and stamps all by Verve.  I ran the flowers, leaves, paper ribbon, oval and square through the Cuttlebug with the dot or swirl folders then sanded the raised image.  All edges inked with brown ink.

inside of the card

inside the box are 5 Ghiradelli squares  :)
I think I covered everything...hope you like it...any questions let me know!   Hugs...Kathi
