Hey baby...what's your sign?

LOL...what a cheezy line huh?  Well, my husband got a kick out of it.  Which is good because it was his birthday card...my little crab!  LOL!  I love this set from Mama Elephant.  It has all of the zodiac signs called Cosmic Stars.  I also used the coordinating set Starry Night which has the sentiments.  I used Versamark ink to stamp the crab background.  The t-shirt and tag dies are by My Favorite Things.  The tag was embossed with a folder from The Paper Studio.  And the little crab was colored with Copics.

Come join us this week at 613 Avenue Create, we're Anything Goes but this weeks twist is Shabby Chic.  We have 3 sponsors this week which means 3 chances to win!  Even if you just stop by to check out our amazing Design Team samples.  Hope to see you there!

Kathi

K for Kimono

Hi everyone,

Playing with the watercolors again  :)  Boy do I need to practice!  LOL!!  Here is a card I made for the Outlawz CAS challenge which is to use and embellishment or image that begins with the first letter of your first or last name.  That was a tough one and of course I couldn't do something simple like key or kite!  I new I had an old unmounted Kimono stamp which I dug out and used, also the HB stamp is an old UM.  I don't know who made either because I didn't label them...my bad I know!   I've been missing my stamps.  I love digi's but my first love was good 'ol rubber!  Hope you like  :)

Hugs,
Kathi

It's Party Time!

Hi Everyone!  It's finally time for the 613 Avenue Create Block Party!  We are celebrating our 2nd Anniversary so come join the fun we have a DT Trivia Contest with 4 prizes available just for that, there are 20 other prizes available you just have to link up, and our weekly challenge has 4 available prizes from some of our favorite sponsors, and don't forget our Awesome DT with all of their inspiration this week!

This will be one of 3 posts for today!  I've been busy!  LOL!   I was fortunate enough to work with and SVG/image set by The Cutting Cafe called BALLOON FUN PRINTABLE & CUTTING FILE SET.  For this project I used the oval balloon to make a Birthday Shaker Wand.  I thought this was a pretty cool idea (if I do say so myself LOL) and I made sure to use a lot of glue so that it didn't come apart while shaking it around!  The stick is a lollipop stick but about 12" long, I have no idea what it's for or where I got them!
#5 colored with Copic marker to match the project

sides of the foam colored with Copics to blend with paper
So come join the party at 613 Avenue Create and you could win some fantastic prizes!

Kathi

Cheers!

Hi everyone,
I'm here today with my DT card for the Through The Craftroom Door  Anything Goes Challenge.  The roses were white so I colored the edges with a Copic then used the colorless blender to soften the lines.  Then I added Stickles to the edges.  I also colored the dotted CS with a matching Copic before cutting all of the leaves/swirl.  I used the Stickles on the dress and as earrings and champagne bubbles.

Thank for stopping by!
Hugs!

Verve's April Diva Dare and a tip

Hi all,

This month's Diva Dare at Verve Stamps is to create a card with a flower or butterfly and bright colors.  Must use at least one Verve product.  So here is my creation!

http://kathiscreativetherapy.blogspot.com/2013/04/verves-april-diva-dare-and-tip.html

Here I used Verve's Flutterby die which I embossed with the dot folder, then I touched all of the dots with a little Crystal Stickles.  The license plate is a die by MFT as well as the alphabet stamps. I heat embossed the letters with a sparkle embossing powder.   A flower (added Stickles to the edges), Jolee's crystal and paper (We R Memory Keepers) from the stash. Large dot embossing folder by Darice.  License place popped up with a piece of foam.

http://kathiscreativetherapy.blogspot.com/2013/04/verves-april-diva-dare-and-tip.html

*TIP:  I really don't like to see the white foam or foam dots from the side of my project.  So what I do is take a Sharpie (black) or a Copic and color the edge of the foam to cover the white.  In the picture above you can't see how the license plate is raised.  Simple yet effective!  Hope you can use the tip!

Hope you're having a good week...I am sick again now with bronchitis!  Ugh...I can't win...

Garden Girl

Hi all...I'm back with a card for someone special  :)  Can't say who because she might actually read this  LOL!  So I've been cleaning/organizing/purging my craft room. Yeah major project!  Anyway, Earth Day is coming up and I thought I could do my part by "recycling" some things I've never used by doing a giveaway.  Things like papers, stamps, embellishments, etc.  Nothing from current trends but the products are new never used.   So I was wondering if you crafty peeps would be interested.  Let me know what you think  :)

So...on to my card

Birthday Girl

Hi all,

What a week it's been!  My poor son was sick on Easter and then it hit me hard!  Seems like I get sick every year in April...I don't get it.  But I'm back and I was finally able to finish a birthday card for a friend at work.

The image is from MFT's Pure Innocence line called Cute-a-tude.  The papers are from Doodlebug Designs and the coral paper is by BoBunny.  Circle doily by QuicKutz.

I used an alphabet stamp set for the name which is on a Pennant Trim die by MFT.  The bling is by Darice and called Bling on a roll...so cool...and cheap!

I cut a single stone, what is it called?  a single "bling" from the roll?  LOL..the things I worry about  :)  Anyway I cut a single one of those off and used Glossy Accents to attach to her hair flower.  I inked the circle with VersaMark Key Lime and added Crystal Stickles accents on the flowers on her dress and background.  I colored her with Copics, she looks blotchy in the pic...don't know why.

Well that's it for now...I have to go back to work tomorrow...nothing worse than being home from work and you can't craft!  Ugh...bummer!  Well at least it's Friday  :)

Hugs,
Kathi

Wish Big!

I'm back with a birthday card for a friend.  I love this stamp from MFT's  A la Mode line called Big Birthday Wishes.  The images are very small measuring 2" x 3.75" so the paper piecing was "fun"  :)

I usually don't promote businesses however, I had an exceptional experience with a company on EBay.  The store is called Creating Everlasting Memories.   To start she had an awesome sale a couple of weeks ago and I purchased 2 multiple die sets and a 4"x4" heart doily die.  The prices were excellent, she combines shipping, communication superior and the shipping was fast.  And here's where the exceptional part comes in.  When I received my order one of the die sets was incorrect.  Simple error, not intentional on their part so I contacted Teresa and she replied quickly and told me to keep the die set that I didn't order and she would send the correct die set out with the next mailing!   So I asked if she was sure because it's a 14 die set that averages $25!  Here is her response:

We are sure. It was our error, and there is no reason for us to inconvenience you any further than we already have.

We thank you for your grace in this matter
Teresa :)

Well I thanked her and told her I would spread the word of my positive experience, which I am doing now  :)  So if you are looking for dies, Magnolia (Tilda) rubber stamps, Graphic 45, My Mind's Eye, Prima Marketing Products, etc. then check out Creating Everlasting Memories.

So here is my card using one of the sets from QuicKutz - Rectangle Doily which has 4 dies.

http://kathiscreativetherapy.blogspot.com/
I stippled the clouds with Brilliance Pearlescent Sky Blue, used VersaMagic Spanish Olive to create the grass, colored with Copics (skin) and Prismacolor pencils/Gamsol on the hair and 2 Jolee's Hotfix crystals which I always adhere with a little Glossy Accents because it holds much better than heat setting them.

Other supplies: My Mind's Eye "Miss Caroline" 6x6 paper pad, A La Mode by MFT - Big Birthday Wishes, QuicKutz Nested Doily Rectangle,Verve Charming Oval dies.

Well if you made it this far then thank you!!  :)
Hugs,
Kathi
