Smile Big!

Happy 4th of July to all of my friends in the US!  I hope everyone had a safe and fun filled day.  I found a 4th of July scrapbook page that I never posted and it goes perfectly with our optional twist this week at 613 Avenue Create.  The twist is to use our newest Create Your Own Challenge chart.

I'm using the American flag as a COLOR challenge.

I love how my son was laughing!

Hope you can join us this week for our Anything Goes challenge at 613 Avenue Create.
Hugs,
Kathi

I Love You SMORE!

Hi all!
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!  Today I have my DT project for the last challenge of 2013 at 613 Avenue Create.  I can't believe it's been a year since I started the weekly challenge blog with Chana and I'm so glad I did  :)  Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps and I've used the Old Snow Star digi for my project.

So here's the story behind the title/project.  Ever since my daughter, Shianne, was little she would say "I love you" and my reply would be "I love you more".  Well then that would turn into a playful argument of "No...I love YOU more" until one day IO told her not to argue with her mother  LOL!  She's 19 and we still say it and laugh.  I love that kid!  :)  So between that and the fact that she was a Girl Scout for 13 years she can't help bu love smores...hence the "I love you smore!" project.  I'll send it to her at school when she goes back next month.

I used a very versatile SVG file from My Scrap Chick called Caddy Essentials.  I used the #7 caddy, made two of them and glued together.  She has some incredible files and great prices too!  You should check it out.
Until next time!
Hugs,
Kathi

Hi all!
This weeks challenge at 613 Avenue Create is Anything Goes but you have the option to use the Create Your Own Challenge chart that I've created.   We are sponsored by KennyK Downloads and I just love this Rock Chick image!  I made a tissue box cover which was rather easy, I used the Back To The Books set from SVGCuts.  The sentiment I typed up.  This is an overdue birthday gift for a friend who is a true Rock Chick  :)

I Love You Daughter

Hi!  Well we're in the home stretch to Christmas!  Hope everyone isn't too frazzled!  I know I am!  LOL!  Here is my project as Guest Designer at The Outlawz.  It is a wall hanging for my daughter.  When she was a little girl we would always say I love you in sign language.  Here is a pic of Shianne in pre school, oh how I wish we had digital back then!!  This is a picture of a picture!

And this was us last year at a soccer game.  The SVG is by Designs on Cloud 9
and I used the Make the Cut software and my Cricut to cut it.  I used pop dots
on the middle fingers and slightly inked the edges.

I hope everyone has a happy and healthy holiday!
Hugs,
Kathi

I love you Shi!!  :)

Graduation Party and Decorations! (pic heavy)

Now the last of the graduation posts...the party!!  The kids had a blast!  My mom splurged and rented an inflatable water slide!  And because the party was July 3rd and the store was closed July 4th they couldn't pick it...we had it for 2 days for the price of 1!!  Awesome deal  :)  Ok first the crafts....

This banner was made using the banners2 SVG from Designs on Cloud 9.  The letters are from the Alphabet Banners SVG by My Scrap Chick.  The hearts are from Verve called Jotted Heart and the t-shirt die is by My Favorite Things.  I found the yellow glitter paper at Joann's.
Now I am really happy with how these centerpieces came out!  You know when you have one of those moments when you kind of impress yourself when you come up with an idea?  Trust me it doesn't happen to me often! LOL!  But I LOVE this idea  :)  I printed out wallet sized pics of Shianne throughout the year and mounted them on CS and attached to lollipop sticks!  I found brand new wooden boxes at Salvation Army and covered with coordinating papers.  The pennant is a Spellbinders die.
Crazy for You was a musical she was in and she is the "cowboy" in jeans and the maroon shirt, this was her big scene where she is shot  LOL!  I made the 2012 in Make the Cut and cut with the Cricut.
Shi has been friends with Missy and Alyssa for 6 years, they met in Jr. High and have been great friends ever since.  As I was looking for pics I found this one from 2007 and paired it up with their prom picture from this year.  The girls absolutely loved it!  I think it is so cool!  They have grown to be beautiful women.

**UPDATE**  I've had several people ask how I kept the lollipop sticks to stand up and not fall over.   I took a block of floral foam and used a steak knife to cut a piece that wedged into the boxes and recycled formula can.  I put some hot glue in the bottom of the can to hold the foam but if it's wedged in there tight then you don't need it.  I would love to see your interpretation of these if you make them!  And please link back to this post if you do  :)

Now time for the crazy fun!  The kids started going down the water slide 2 and 3 at a time which resulted in going over the end of it!!

I know how much the kids like taking pics of themselves so I made a photo booth with accessories but they were so busy they didn't even touch them til night time but we did get a few pics.  I found a lot of the free printable props at Accent the Party (scroll down).

 And finally...the bonfire...so awesome!

Thanks for making it to the end!  LOL!

This week's Anything Goes Challenge at JDE!

This week is the Altered Art's turn to host and we are sponsored this week by Mayzy Art Digi Stamps.  I used a Robert Jackson image called Flowers IV found HERE.  Now that I think about it I didn't really alter anything but I did make a caddy.  I was going to alter something for back to school but thought it might be a little too early for that one  :)  Although I'm sure some parents are ready for them to go back now!  LOL!
There was minimal coloring on this one just some gray shading on the petals, the stem and some blue shadow.  I paper pieced the center of the daisy.

back...die by Verve
The caddy is an SVG from My Scrap Chick found HERE.  I used #5.

So come join us this week the challenge is still Anything Goes!  You do not need to alter anything you can make a card, bookmark...anything!  Join us HERE!

Graduation Day :)

Ah...my little girl has just graduated from high school.  You know when they're 5 and you're sitting at their Kindergarten graduation watching them thinking of what they will be like when graduating from high school?  Well I could never have imagined that my daughter would be so intelligent, mature, compassionate, so motivated to live her life to the fullest.  The list of activities this year (and every year) were overwhelming for me but she juggled it all!  Just to name a few she was goalie for the Varsity soccer team, swim team, drama club, academic decathlon, RI Honor Society, Girl Scouts (13 years!) and work.  Whew!  Needless to say we didn't get to spend a lot of quality time together this year  :(   So now my heart aches because she is going away to college next month, and like most parents I worry about her in this unpredictable world we live in.  I know she will blossom with all of the new opportunities she'll experience and she can come home on weekends it's in Massachusetts!  So here we are on graduation day and a couple of little things I made.
Shianne Kindergarten Graduation 1999

I made a little flag for her antenna  :)
Class of 2012 was an SVG I found online (I forgot to save the name)
Thanks for reading this long one!

I made myself something!

I don't know about you guys but I very rarely make myself anything.  Well the challenge at JDE is the color challenge to use red, blue and purple.  Also we are being sponsored this week by A Day for Daisies digi stamps.  I just love this image called Growing in a Snowglobe.  I decided to make something to hang on my office door, the finished size is 8 x 10.
The black and blue paper bases were cut from a banner file which was a free weekly set from Designs on Cloud 9.  The Scalloped border is a Spellbinders die with the Jolee's Hotfix crystals.  The ribbon is stiff and sparkly and was very easy to stamp on.  The letters are from a CTMH set called Chocolate Alphabet small.
I used Copics E00 and E000 for her skin and Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol for everything else, Stickles on her wings and center of flowers, I used PearlEx #673 interference violet inside the snowglobe (doesn't show in pictures though!)

Ok so here is my "goof".  I was almost done and below is the original border with the additional die used to cut the hearts and dots which was fine until I decided to to fill them with Stickles.  I was so not happy with the result and mad at myself for "ruining" and almost finished project.  I'm sure you've been there LOL!  Anyway I decided to cover it with another scalloped piece and added the Jolee's crystals.  I am much happier with the final result!  Whew!
