Watercolor flowers

It's time for another Through The Craftroom Door challenge!
This week we are sponsored by

Here is my DT card

I water colored two pieces of paper (blue/purples and green) then printed the digi.  I "fussy cut" the flowers and leaves out and glued the pieces on top of an image printed on white CS.  Just like a puzzle!  LOL!  The plum paper is from DCWV Shimmer Stack, the white with glitter design CS was a scrap I bought from a stamp store.  I used the Sizzix scalloped die and the Dainty Bow die by MFT.

The centers of the flowers are micro beads by Martha Stuart.  I put some Glossy Accents then poured the beads over it.  I did three layers this way so it is raised up.  I wrapped some cloth floral wire around the end of my pin tool and tucked them under the flowers secured with a little Glossy Accents (I love that stuff!!).  The crystals are Jolee's Hotfix Crystals.

I really like how this came out.  Let me tell you it's not easy fussy cutting water color paper!  LOL!  I hope you can stop by and see what my talented DT members have created or maybe you could join us at TTCRD for our Anything Goes Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Kathi

Ladybug for my Lovebug

Hi!
Here's a card I made for my daughter...my lovebug  :)   This is a free digi from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs
called Little Lady Bug.  Tricia always has a free weekly cutting file as well!  Her images are sooo cute!  Check them out!

http://kathiscreativetherapy.blogspot.com/

I originally colored her with Prismacolor pencils & Gamsol but I ended up going over the black with a black Copic.  I always do the skin with Copics.  I used blue chalk for the background/shadow but it just does not show at all in this pic.  I used black diamond Stickles on her dots.  I used some old corner rounder scissors, Oval Doily by Cottage Cutz, Fishtail Flags by MFT.

(inside)

I haven't decorated the outside of an envelope in years!  I stippled the clouds with Brilliance Pearlescent Sky Blue and hand drew the lady bug trail.  I mailed it almost a week ago and she hasn't received it yet!  I did seal the back with washi tape so I really hope one of the machines didn't eat it!!

Hope everyone is having a good week!  I'll be back with more this week  :)
Hugs,
Kathi

It's time for a Challenge!

Hi Everyone!

Hope you have been warm and well!!  Two things we haven't had here in Rhode Island!  I had been sick but not as bad as most people.  I've been busy with the new challenge blog 613 Avenue Create and this week we have another Anything Goes Challenge with an optional twist to use the colors Blue, Cream and/or White.  Here is my card and I used an image from our sponsor DigiStamps4Joy.

http://kathiscreativetherapy.blogspot.com/

I used Copics, Prismacolor pencils/Gamsol and chalks on this one image!  Guess I have commitment issues LOL!  The card base is a Spellbinders die, the detailed die is by Memory Box, paper by Martha Stewart and some Jolee's Hotfix Crystals.

Hope you can join us for the challenge or just come visit our neighborhood at 613 Avenue Create!

Thanks for stopping by!

I don't have an attitude problem...

I have a personality you can't handle!!  LOL!!  I LOVE this sentiment!  And it was perfect for a birthday card for a friend at work.  This goes along with the color challenge of Red, Black & White at Jackson's Digital Expressions.  I used the Friends Wine 2  image and, if you read my blog then you'll know, I cropped Ruby's head from the main image.  I can never use anything the way you're supposed to!  LOL!  The sentiment came with the Ruby Tidbits - attitude digi but I had to retype it so it fit on my card.

So here is my easel card and a pic of the main image that I cropped.

Details:  Spellbinder's circle/scalloped circle, corner rounder, image colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, Icicle Stickles on earrings/shirt, Glossy Accents on lips/glasses/wine glass, papers My Mind's Eye/stash and black CANDI dots.

Have a great week everyone!

Zebra print & Bling Oh My!

Hi again!

I'm on a roll this week!  Another birthday at work this time my new office mate Jen.  She loves Zebra and pink so here's what I came up with...
Bugaboo digi "Attitude" colored with Prismacolor pencils + Gamsol, skin colored with Copics
Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Square, Star Dust Stickles on the edges, Black Diamond Stickles on the polka dots on dress and earrings, Glossy Accents on her glasses/lips/hair highlights
Jennifer cut with the Sizzix Sizzlits Script alphabet then coated with the Star Dust Stickles, Jolee's Hotfix Crystals which I've been adhering with the Glossy Accents.  I think that has a stronger bond.

Pink or Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge at JDE!

Hi all!!
This week at Jacksons Digital Expressions our challenge is to create a project using the color pink or a project supporting Breast Cancer Awareness (pink, ribbon, sentiments, etc).  And members of the DT and supporters have decided to donate .25 per entry to go to BC treatment.  So far we are up to $1.25 per entry!  We are not asking for donations we are simply asking to create an item and enter in the challenge at JDE this week.  Please feel free to advertise this on your own blogs because the more entries = more $ donated!

So onto my projects for the week.  First is a card I created using the Awareness Walk digi and I cropped just one girl from the group.

I stippled the cloud background and used an oval Spellbinder for the image which I cut the outline of the girls back.  Colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  The stamp is from My Favorite Things - Pure Innocence - Have Hope set.  The dies are from Verve called Charming Ovals.

JDE is sponsored again this week by Bugaboo Stamps.  I used the Ribbon Bear Leaning digi to make a
5 x 7 photo mat for my cousin who has been dealing with breast cancer herself.  She will be doing the relay for life in October.  I paper pieced the ribbon and the heart on his bum  :)   and I used chalks to color him in.

This week is also Stella Says Sketch #120

matching card - sentiment by Ginger's House

So everybody get your craft on this week and join us for our BCA Challenge and let's raise some money!!

This week's Anything Goes Challenge at JDE!

This week is the Altered Art's turn to host and we are sponsored this week by Mayzy Art Digi Stamps.  I used a Robert Jackson image called Flowers IV found HERE.  Now that I think about it I didn't really alter anything but I did make a caddy.  I was going to alter something for back to school but thought it might be a little too early for that one  :)  Although I'm sure some parents are ready for them to go back now!  LOL!
There was minimal coloring on this one just some gray shading on the petals, the stem and some blue shadow.  I paper pieced the center of the daisy.

back...die by Verve
The caddy is an SVG from My Scrap Chick found HERE.  I used #5.

So come join us this week the challenge is still Anything Goes!  You do not need to alter anything you can make a card, bookmark...anything!  Join us HERE!

Jackson's Digital Expressions Challenge and some tips!

This week it's my turn to host the new Inks and Such challenge at JDE!  Inks and Such is a challenge where you can showcase your coloring talents.  And soon we will have tutorials and tip and techniques to share with you.  This week I challenged the DT to make a card that was not the typical A4 size.  I made two this week.
This is a new release called Moma's Suga.  I used Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  Colors used: 942,940,914,941,946,945,927,1093,1065,906,1086,929,1014.  I inked the edges of the scalloped oval with a pigment ink then went over it with the nub and Gamsol and it actually smoothed it out nicely!

Here is a gift card holder made using the Just Shoes XI image.  Colored with Prismacolors 932,956,1008,935.  The card holder base is made by folding the Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Grand Labels Eleven die cut in half.  I used a Cuttlebug folder to emboss once folded in half.  Don't you wish they would either name or # their folders so I could tell you exactly which one was used?  Anyway, scalloped circle and center circle both Spellbinders.  Hard to tell but there are dots of Stickles around the scallops.

Here's a visual for the die except your score line will be down the center.

Here's a tip for making the pennant if you don't have a die or SVG:

Place the end of the paper diagonal in a square punch, see the top left corner, that will be the inside of your pennant "tail".

So that's it!  Come check out the amazing talent of the other DT members at JDE and join us for this new challenge!

Post it note cover

Today I made a post it note cover for the Meljen's Design challenge #93 color.  You have to use red and/or pink and craft plus one of her digi stamps.  I used craft cardstock cut 3" W x 6.5" L I scored it at 3" then at 3.5".  I ran it through the Cuttlebug with the pin dot folder, had to do half and half because the paper is a little too long.  Then I used the Galaxy marker to trace the inside of one of the Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles Large set.  I used Crystal Stickles on all of the dots on the outside of the scalloped circle (doesn't show in the pic).  I used the Hope ribbon digi colored with Copic RV63 and gray C5 and Crystal Stickles inside the heart.

Thanks for stopping by!

My Little Monster scrapbook page

I finally made a scrapbook page for my son...I know he's almost 2 1/2!  I've definitely been slacking in the scrapbooking department.  Not that I don't have 1000's of pictures I could scrap.  What can I say so many ideas so little time!  Long story short this is the look he gave me after he banged a block on a glass coffee table and I told him "No!"  My Little Monster  :)

I used a digi stamp from Meljen's Designs.  Colored with chalks and Copic BG93 for the letters and BG72 on the stars.  I stippled Tea Dye Distress Ink over the finished digi and the journaling block.  The lime green border is an SVG set of 4 rosette strips by Birds Cards.  Her site is awesome and she has tons of SVG's and digi stamps and all for free!!  And the paper is from My Mind's Eye "Star Bright".

Happy Crafting!
