Peace, Love, Snow

Hi All,
Today I have a project for our first challenge of 2014 at 613 Avenue Create
Our sponsors are ALL DRESSED UP  and SQUIGGLEFLY.  I chose an image from All Dressed Up for our optional theme of  Colors, Sights, Sounds of Winter.
I realize green isn't a color associated with Winter but the snowflakes are!
And this particular shade of green was so difficult to photograph!
It's really a little deeper than this.
The candies are called Sixlits...remember those as a kid or am I dating myself?  Anyway I thought they were perfect for little "snowballs"!
It's very hard to see but I used Icicle Stickles on the snowflakes and the "hi".
So that's it for now...thanks for stopping by!  And don't forget to link up on our
We have some awesome sponsors and prizes!

Hugs,
Kathi

Favorite Little Pumpkin

Hi Everyone!
I made this card for my daughter, Shianne, to mail from college to my mother AKA Grammy.  When I was pregnant with Shi we didn't know she was a "she" so my mother always referred to her as "pumpkin".  She'd ask "how's pumpkin today?" etc.  And my baby shower was a Halloween party and I dressed as...yup...a pumpkin!  A big round one!  LOL!  Anyway, this Sally character from Sassy Cheryl's Stamps always reminds me of Shi when she was little.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Spooky Sweets set.

This card is for the Through The Craftroom Door Anything Goes Challenge this week.  We are sponsored by Oozak and you could win a $10 gift certificate to the store.

And "Sally" always has a little ladybug with her...something else about Shianne...she was always my little "lovebug".  I always made her ladybug t-shirts etc.  A nice little trip down Memory Lane!  LOL!!  Thanks for strolling with me!!

Hugs,
Kathi

Fly Away...

Hi all!  Ready for this weeks Through The Craftroom Door DT project?  No...oh well I'm going to show you anyway!  :)  This week our sponsor is A Day For Daisies.  As usual I couldn't just leave the image alone.  I had gotten an alphabet set as a freebie a while back and I really liked the fairies on the letter Z so I enlarged and cropped them.  I only used one of them on this project.  I really like this alphabet it has some great images and is very pretty!

The sentiment is by Create With TLC and was a freebie as well.

I wish I could have kept her little antennas.  I colored with Copics, used a
Uniball gold pen to add the dots.  I bought a new set of Twinkling H2O's at
a sale for $3...score!  I've never used them and I think I definitely applied
a coat to the wings that was too thick.  Ahh a learning experience.

I curved her wings a little.
I colored the back of the digi black.

I spoke with Tammy, A Day For Daisies owner, because I couldn't find the alphabet on the website to provide a link for to follow but it is not currently available.  That could change you never know so you should check often.  She has many wonderful images to purchase as well.  I also asked if it was ok to crop the fairy away from the letter and she told me that she likes to see how people use the images in different ways.  I love when an owner is so accommodating and open to the creative process  :)  Enough babble from me!  LOL!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Hugs,
Kathi
