I Love You SMORE!

Hi all!
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!  Today I have my DT project for the last challenge of 2013 at 613 Avenue Create.  I can't believe it's been a year since I started the weekly challenge blog with Chana and I'm so glad I did  :)  Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps and I've used the Old Snow Star digi for my project.

So here's the story behind the title/project.  Ever since my daughter, Shianne, was little she would say "I love you" and my reply would be "I love you more".  Well then that would turn into a playful argument of "No...I love YOU more" until one day IO told her not to argue with her mother  LOL!  She's 19 and we still say it and laugh.  I love that kid!  :)  So between that and the fact that she was a Girl Scout for 13 years she can't help bu love smores...hence the "I love you smore!" project.  I'll send it to her at school when she goes back next month.

I used a very versatile SVG file from My Scrap Chick called Caddy Essentials.  I used the #7 caddy, made two of them and glued together.  She has some incredible files and great prices too!  You should check it out.
Until next time!
Hugs,
Kathi

Take me to you freezer!

Hi!  Today I have another project as Guest Designer at The Outlawz Challenge Blog.  The challenge is to use animal prints or make an animal the focal point of your design.  I was going to make something with an old dolphin stamp I have and I wish I had.  I used pink zebra on this snowman from Whimsie Doodles.  You know when you make something and you're just not happy with it?  It just didn't turn out the way you wanted it to?  And at midnight you don't have enough time to start another project?  LOL!  Yeah that's this one for me  :)   Not to mention the pics/lighting do not do it any justice.

Details:  I paper pieced the hat/scarf/mittens/straw, colored with Copics/Prismacolor pencils/chalks I colored the snowman with my pearl chalks, Stardust Stickles on the cup/snowflake, Icicle Stickles on the hat, etc, snowflake die/fishtail flags by MFT, rounded squares by Lifestyle Crafts, banner is an SVG from Designs on Cloud 9.

Thanks for stopping by!

November 2012 Papertrey Blog Hop!

Hi everyone and welcome to my entry at the November Papertrey Blog Hop!  I just love PTI stamps!  On my card I used the warm winter wishes stamp from the Holiday Button Bits Vol 3 set.  The snowman is a new release from A Day For Daisies called Snowball Scott.  I actually made him look more like a her though I think  :)  I was so tempted to add Stickles but thought that would clash with the lace and muted colors.  I'll just have to load up the next card!  LOL!

I colored him with chalks and added some shading with Prismacolor pencils.  It doesn't show but the white chalk is actually shimmery from my Pebbles Inc sets. I used the square die by Spellbinders and the Charming Oval die by Verve Stamps.  The heart is an old brad from the stash.

Thanks for stopping by!

Shrinky Dinks!

Remember when you were a kid and Shrinky Dinks were all the rage?  No...oh that just proves I'm old then!  LOL!  Well I remember and loved them so much, ahh such memories, thanks Mom!  I've used shrink plastic but I found the actual Shrinky Dink plastic, made for your printer, at Michael's.  Expensive, yes but with a coupon it's less painful  :)  This week at Jackson's Digital Expressions it's time to alter something!  One of my favorite challenges.  Your challenge is to alter some type of container (new or recycled) and the theme is Holiday or Winter.  I altered a Crystal Light container and I used the new release image Finishing Touch on Shrinky Dink plastichttp://sewmanyways.blogspot.com/2012/1 and cut it out with my Spellbinder's die.  I punched a snowflake and shrunk it with my heat gun and adhered it with Glossy Accents, love that stuff for attaching small elements!

BEFORE shrinking, colored with Prismacolor pencils and chalks.  The coloring is always darker once you shrink it.

AFTER shrinking

Come join us this week at JDE and challenge yourself to alter something.  Great idea for gift giving or packaging homemade treats!  Have a great week everyone!
