Peace Love Santa

Hi everyone!
Today is World Peace Day and at 613 Avenue Create the optional theme is to use a peace symbol or the word peace in your creation.  Our sponsor this week is Rick St. Dennis and I've used the Night Before Christmas Santa image, cropped of course.

So today as I was trying to finish this project my 4 year old, Niko, came to "help" me.  He tends to drive me a little crazy when he comes to my craft room because he likes to touch everything!  Typical 4 year old  :)   Well...we were able to have a little fun today!

KEEP CALM AND ROCK ON!

Hi all!
This weeks challenge at 613 Avenue Create is Anything Goes but you have the option to use the Create Your Own Challenge chart that I've created.   We are sponsored by KennyK Downloads and I just love this Rock Chick image!  I made a tissue box cover which was rather easy, I used the Back To The Books set from SVGCuts.  The sentiment I typed up.  This is an overdue birthday gift for a friend who is a true Rock Chick  :)

I Love You Daughter

Hi!  Well we're in the home stretch to Christmas!  Hope everyone isn't too frazzled!  I know I am!  LOL!  Here is my project as Guest Designer at The Outlawz.  It is a wall hanging for my daughter.  When she was a little girl we would always say I love you in sign language.  Here is a pic of Shianne in pre school, oh how I wish we had digital back then!!  This is a picture of a picture!

And this was us last year at a soccer game.  The SVG is by Designs on Cloud 9
and I used the Make the Cut software and my Cricut to cut it.  I used pop dots
on the middle fingers and slightly inked the edges.

I hope everyone has a happy and healthy holiday!
Hugs,
Kathi

I love you Shi!!  :)

Graduation Party and Decorations! (pic heavy)

Now the last of the graduation posts...the party!!  The kids had a blast!  My mom splurged and rented an inflatable water slide!  And because the party was July 3rd and the store was closed July 4th they couldn't pick it...we had it for 2 days for the price of 1!!  Awesome deal  :)  Ok first the crafts....

This banner was made using the banners2 SVG from Designs on Cloud 9.  The letters are from the Alphabet Banners SVG by My Scrap Chick.  The hearts are from Verve called Jotted Heart and the t-shirt die is by My Favorite Things.  I found the yellow glitter paper at Joann's.
Now I am really happy with how these centerpieces came out!  You know when you have one of those moments when you kind of impress yourself when you come up with an idea?  Trust me it doesn't happen to me often! LOL!  But I LOVE this idea  :)  I printed out wallet sized pics of Shianne throughout the year and mounted them on CS and attached to lollipop sticks!  I found brand new wooden boxes at Salvation Army and covered with coordinating papers.  The pennant is a Spellbinders die.
Crazy for You was a musical she was in and she is the "cowboy" in jeans and the maroon shirt, this was her big scene where she is shot  LOL!  I made the 2012 in Make the Cut and cut with the Cricut.
Shi has been friends with Missy and Alyssa for 6 years, they met in Jr. High and have been great friends ever since.  As I was looking for pics I found this one from 2007 and paired it up with their prom picture from this year.  The girls absolutely loved it!  I think it is so cool!  They have grown to be beautiful women.

**UPDATE**  I've had several people ask how I kept the lollipop sticks to stand up and not fall over.   I took a block of floral foam and used a steak knife to cut a piece that wedged into the boxes and recycled formula can.  I put some hot glue in the bottom of the can to hold the foam but if it's wedged in there tight then you don't need it.  I would love to see your interpretation of these if you make them!  And please link back to this post if you do  :)

Now time for the crazy fun!  The kids started going down the water slide 2 and 3 at a time which resulted in going over the end of it!!

I know how much the kids like taking pics of themselves so I made a photo booth with accessories but they were so busy they didn't even touch them til night time but we did get a few pics.  I found a lot of the free printable props at Accent the Party (scroll down).

 And finally...the bonfire...so awesome!

Thanks for making it to the end!  LOL!

This week's Anything Goes Challenge at JDE!

This week is the Altered Art's turn to host and we are sponsored this week by Mayzy Art Digi Stamps.  I used a Robert Jackson image called Flowers IV found HERE.  Now that I think about it I didn't really alter anything but I did make a caddy.  I was going to alter something for back to school but thought it might be a little too early for that one  :)  Although I'm sure some parents are ready for them to go back now!  LOL!
There was minimal coloring on this one just some gray shading on the petals, the stem and some blue shadow.  I paper pieced the center of the daisy.

back...die by Verve
The caddy is an SVG from My Scrap Chick found HERE.  I used #5.

So come join us this week the challenge is still Anything Goes!  You do not need to alter anything you can make a card, bookmark...anything!  Join us HERE!

Graduation Candy Poem

Hi all,

I'm trying to get ready for my daughter's graduation from high school tomorrow!  Really really having a hard time with it!  (sniff...sniff)  so I'm doing some therapy ;)  I made these for my daughter and some of her friends.  I found the poem HERE but tweaked it a little. I created the 2012 file in MTC, banner is an SVG  from Designs on Cloud 9, tag is a Spellbinders die and the little pails were from Target's dollar bins.  I like them they're so cute  :)

St. Patrick's Day Treats

This is a sign I made for my daughter Shianne.  She mentioned once that she liked this saying and when I got it in a Verve stamp set (called Blessings)  I knew I would use it for her somehow.  The bear stamp is by Judith and colored with chalks.  Lower corners was a Spellbinders square cut diagonally.  Ribbon from Joann's and the glitter cardstock by DCWV.

This container had tootsie rolls in it left over from Valentine's day but I took them out and put green M+M's in it.  The bear is a very old stamp from DJ Inkers.  I love her bears!!  Guess I just like bears in general LOL.  I used chalks again, my preferred method of coloring images in.

The top of the container.  This is one of G studio $1 stamps.
And now for the yummy stuff  :)  I used Spellbinders for the scalloped square and the circles.  Shamrocks were cut from an SVG file on my Make the Cut and Cricut.  The Irish sayings are stamps that I had made many years ago when I was doing craft shows and renting retail space.  I have several more and I just love them!

The lighting is terrible but I was trying to get close up so you could read the phrases.  On the circle I inked the edges in gold.  The shimmer green paper I bought at Joann's along with the ribbon.
