Unique...Just Like You - Guest Designer post

Hi Everyone!

I'm so excited!  I was asked to be a Guest Designer at Inkspirational Challenges! Whoop whoop!  I don't get to enter many challenges because I'm so busy with 613 Avenue Create and just life in general!  But when I do get a little time I do like to check out their wonderful challenges!

The theme of the Inkspirational Challenge for the next 2 weeks is
Anything Goes with SILVER.

I created the sentiment in Word.  The intricate die is by Spellbinders and the snowflake die is from My Favorite Things.  I used double stick tape to adhere the beads and glitter to the die.  The seed beads at the bottom of the Maya Road stick pin are attached with some Ranger's Multi Medium.

I hope you stop by the Inkspirational Challenge to see what the very talented Design Team have created for this challenge.  And maybe you'll find some time to join us!

Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Kathi

Owl love

Hi again!  This is my second post today  :)  My brother-in-law asked me to make a card for his girlfriend, who loves owls, and this is what I came up with.

The owl SVG is called Winter Owl from Miss Kate's Cuttables.  I used my MTC software and Cricut.  I used scraps of CS, Stickles on the hat, a love charm and seed beads.

Hugs,

Have a magical day!

Hi all!  Just a quick post to let you know about our challenge at 613 Avenue CreateWe're Anything Goes but this weeks optional twist is to use a sentiment.  We have 3 great sponsors this week!

I've used an image from Scrapper's Delights called Pixie Corner And I've used a technique called spotlighting.  I love the Tim Holtz plain crinkle ribbon!  I used the same Copic marker on the ribbon to match the wings!  I hope you like it!

Stop by 613 Avenue Create to see what our awesome DT has come up with this week, so much inspiration waiting for you!  Thanks for stopping by!

Kathi

Peace, Love, Snow

Hi All,
Today I have a project for our first challenge of 2014 at 613 Avenue Create
Our sponsors are ALL DRESSED UP  and SQUIGGLEFLY.  I chose an image from All Dressed Up for our optional theme of  Colors, Sights, Sounds of Winter.
I realize green isn't a color associated with Winter but the snowflakes are!
And this particular shade of green was so difficult to photograph!
It's really a little deeper than this.
The candies are called Sixlits...remember those as a kid or am I dating myself?  Anyway I thought they were perfect for little "snowballs"!
It's very hard to see but I used Icicle Stickles on the snowflakes and the "hi".
So that's it for now...thanks for stopping by!  And don't forget to link up on our
We have some awesome sponsors and prizes!

Hugs,
Kathi

Dainty butterfly

Hi again!  I'm here with my DT card for Through The Craftroom Door challenge blog.  Our sponsor this week is Oozak who sells tons of supplies and stamps.  He sells the Memory Box butterfly die which I've used on my card.  The paper looks black but it's really a pretty deep purple.  The patterned paper is by Maja Design which I won in that huge blog candy  :)

I used some old beads and Swarovski Crystals for the body and added Jolee's Hotfix Crystals to the wings.  I always use Glossy Accents to adhere the crystals.
Hope you can join us this week at TTCRD where the challenges are always Anything Goes!
Hugs,
Kathi

Other Supplies:
dies:  MFT - hello, QuicKutz - scalloped rectangle
other: corner rounder, Cuttlebug

Be unique...

Hi everyone  :)

Time for our challenge at 613 Avenue Create!   As usual it's Anything Goes but this week the optional twist is to use a school supply in your creation!  I had this awesome project all planned out in my head but as it often happens...life got in the way of my "therapy" time.  So I whipped this up instead.  I'll have to save the other idea for another time.

Our sponsor this week is Lacy Sunshine Stamps

I've used the In the Garden digi bits  which comes with butterflies, dragonflies and snail images.  Here is what I came up with

Hope you can stop by and see what the other talented ladies have come up with and maybe enter your project!    Til next time!
Hugs,
Kathi

Fly Away...

Hi all!  Ready for this weeks Through The Craftroom Door DT project?  No...oh well I'm going to show you anyway!  :)  This week our sponsor is A Day For Daisies.  As usual I couldn't just leave the image alone.  I had gotten an alphabet set as a freebie a while back and I really liked the fairies on the letter Z so I enlarged and cropped them.  I only used one of them on this project.  I really like this alphabet it has some great images and is very pretty!

The sentiment is by Create With TLC and was a freebie as well.

I wish I could have kept her little antennas.  I colored with Copics, used a
Uniball gold pen to add the dots.  I bought a new set of Twinkling H2O's at
a sale for $3...score!  I've never used them and I think I definitely applied
a coat to the wings that was too thick.  Ahh a learning experience.

I curved her wings a little.
I colored the back of the digi black.

I spoke with Tammy, A Day For Daisies owner, because I couldn't find the alphabet on the website to provide a link for to follow but it is not currently available.  That could change you never know so you should check often.  She has many wonderful images to purchase as well.  I also asked if it was ok to crop the fairy away from the letter and she told me that she likes to see how people use the images in different ways.  I love when an owner is so accommodating and open to the creative process  :)  Enough babble from me!  LOL!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Hugs,
Kathi

Beaded pen

Hi everyone a quick post with my project for this weeks challenge at 613 Avenue Create!  Our optional twist this week is to make a card or gift for a friends since August 3rd is National Friendship Day.  Our sponsor this week is Kenny K and I've used the image Troublemaker which is just so appropriate and she's eating ice cream!  Couldn't be a more appropriate image!  LOL!  Ahh the good 'ol days of getting into mischief with my BFF Kim!  And Kim's favorite color is pink  :)

The skin color was so difficult to color!  Even after
spraying the image (before shrinking) with a sealant
the Copics would still make the ink run.  I tried chalks but
couldn't get a good color...ugh.  So this is a combination of
chalks and Prismacolor pencils.  Then I cut the image out,
punched a hole and shrunk it with my heat gun.  I held
the hole with my pin tool  ;)  I always feel like such a little kid
when I work with this stuff!  I have such fond memories of
childhood playing with it.

Ok enough pictures! LOL!
Hugs,
Kathi

A.R.T. #7 - Anything Goes

Watercolor flowers

It's time for another Through The Craftroom Door challenge!
This week we are sponsored by

Here is my DT card

I water colored two pieces of paper (blue/purples and green) then printed the digi.  I "fussy cut" the flowers and leaves out and glued the pieces on top of an image printed on white CS.  Just like a puzzle!  LOL!  The plum paper is from DCWV Shimmer Stack, the white with glitter design CS was a scrap I bought from a stamp store.  I used the Sizzix scalloped die and the Dainty Bow die by MFT.

The centers of the flowers are micro beads by Martha Stuart.  I put some Glossy Accents then poured the beads over it.  I did three layers this way so it is raised up.  I wrapped some cloth floral wire around the end of my pin tool and tucked them under the flowers secured with a little Glossy Accents (I love that stuff!!).  The crystals are Jolee's Hotfix Crystals.

I really like how this came out.  Let me tell you it's not easy fussy cutting water color paper!  LOL!  I hope you can stop by and see what my talented DT members have created or maybe you could join us at TTCRD for our Anything Goes Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Kathi

Hi everyone,

Rick St. Dennis and I've used an image called Myataki.
