Summer Fun

Hi all,

I'm running a little late with my Kitty Bee Designs project!  This was one of those projects that I had a great idea to make a Christmas ornament with sand, shells and sea glass but that just didn't happen. Instead I have a card for our Summer Fun theme for the Aloha Friday Challenge.  You can find Kitty Bee images on Etsy HERE.

The sea turtle was printed on watercolor paper where I used the saran wrap technique.  Shading was added with Copics.  The sentiment stamp is by My Favorite Things.

I put him on an action wobble and bent his fins upward so it looks like he's swimming!

I like the way it turned out even though it wasn't my original vision.  Stop by the Aloha Friday Challenge to see what the other DT ladies have created.  Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,
Kathi

Birthday Bear

Hi!

Happy Friday!  It's time for the new challenge at Kitty Bee Designs the Aloha Friday challenge theme is BIRTHDAY.  Easy Peasy huh?  We all need birthday cards, right?  For my DT project I used this adorable little bear.

The heart/banner and bear dress/shoes are water colored  and paper pieced.  Bear was colored with Copics and I used the colorless blender to "dot" the image after coloring it to add some texture.  Dies are by My Favorite Things and Lawn Fawn.  And I added a few Jolee's crystals to the flowers.  I hope you like my first official DT project for Kitty Bee Designs!  Come join the fun!

Kathi

K for Kimono

Hi everyone,

Playing with the watercolors again  :)  Boy do I need to practice!  LOL!!  Here is a card I made for the Outlawz CAS challenge which is to use and embellishment or image that begins with the first letter of your first or last name.  That was a tough one and of course I couldn't do something simple like key or kite!  I new I had an old unmounted Kimono stamp which I dug out and used, also the HB stamp is an old UM.  I don't know who made either because I didn't label them...my bad I know!   I've been missing my stamps.  I love digi's but my first love was good 'ol rubber!  Hope you like  :)

Kathi

Happy Easter

Well I was able to make a couple of last minute Easter cards!

I had a chance to play with my watercolors.  I embossed the egg image with WOW opaque bright white EP.  I've had this stamp forever!  It's from Denami Designs.  I used to love their stamps.  I added some WOS on the hearts for a litter shimmer  :)

This week at 613 Avenue Create we have a true Anything Goes Challenge...no twist!  Our sponsor is  Aurora WingsCome see what the DT have made with the beautiful images by Aurora Wings.

To my friends who are celebrating Easter I hope you have a beautiful day!

Boo boo bear

I'm back with another project for our challenge at  613 Avenue Create and I'm using another Melonheadz Illustrations image called Bear from Lori's Medical Bundle.
I printed the bear on craft CS and colored it with watercolors, fussy cut the image and popped up with foam dots.  I used a pink pigment ink on the edges of the scalloped Spellbinders die.  I added some pale pink MME enamel dots in the corners.

Stop by 613 Avenue Create to see what the DT ladies have created this week, there are some awesome cards!

Be Yourself

So here's my final post for our Block Party at 613 Avenue CreateCome join us for a new challenge called 1,001 Techniques, prizes and a fun DT Trivia game!  I've also created a card using another one of our sponsors this week Chubby Mermaid
Diane's images are very detailed and I love them but this time I cropped the yoga girl from the main image so I could make a more CAS card.  The techniques I used are the
Bokeh Technique, stamping, Copic coloring, fussy cutting, bow tying.  I really like the technique and will be playing with it more.  Click the link to go to a tutorial.

Stop by our neighborhood at 613 Avenue Create and join our challenge...how many techniques can you incorporate into one project?
Hugs,
Kathi

Where Dreams May Go...

Hi again!
I'm back with another card for our challenge at 613 Avenue Create.  We have 4 great sponsors this week and I've also used this Seahorse image from QKR Stampede.

I water colored paper, printed the image then fussy cut it.  I stippled over a stencil with pearlescent pigment inks.  The die and sentiment are both by Verve.

Thanks for stopping by!

You Rock!

Hi everyone!

I know my posts have been few and far between  :(    It's not because I haven't been crafting because I have!  I told people at work they have to stop leaving and having birthdays!  I can't keep up!  LOL!  Between that, running 613 Avenue Create by myself, work and family...I'm going bonkers!!!  Whew...well speaking of 613 Avenue Create our challenge this week is Anything Goes and the optional theme is Party Time!  Whatever you may be celebrating works for us!  Come link up your projects HERE!  You could win prizes from our sponsors this week:

I chose to use the Guitar digi from Oak Pond Creations.  For the guitar I water colored the paper and put sea salt on it.  Love that technique but I didn't get my usual results because the humidity was 97% that day!  Ugh can say gross?  It sat in front of the fan for 2 hours and still didn't dry!  I had to dry it with the hair dryer.  Anyway, it still came out ok.  I fussy cut layered it and added some enamel dots for the knobs.  I popped it up on the base which was embossed with a Darice flames folder and sanded.  The sentiment is by Verve.

Hope you like it!  Come see out what our talented DT ladies have come up with this week!
Hugs,
Kathi   :)

Watercolor flowers

It's time for another Through The Craftroom Door challenge!
This week we are sponsored by

Here is my DT card

I water colored two pieces of paper (blue/purples and green) then printed the digi.  I "fussy cut" the flowers and leaves out and glued the pieces on top of an image printed on white CS.  Just like a puzzle!  LOL!  The plum paper is from DCWV Shimmer Stack, the white with glitter design CS was a scrap I bought from a stamp store.  I used the Sizzix scalloped die and the Dainty Bow die by MFT.

The centers of the flowers are micro beads by Martha Stuart.  I put some Glossy Accents then poured the beads over it.  I did three layers this way so it is raised up.  I wrapped some cloth floral wire around the end of my pin tool and tucked them under the flowers secured with a little Glossy Accents (I love that stuff!!).  The crystals are Jolee's Hotfix Crystals.

I really like how this came out.  Let me tell you it's not easy fussy cutting water color paper!  LOL!  I hope you can stop by and see what my talented DT members have created or maybe you could join us at TTCRD for our Anything Goes Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Kathi

Ladybugs & Daisies

Hi all,
This week at 613 Avenue Create I have a new kind of challenge for you.  Our challenges are always Anything Goes but the twist this time is called Create Your Own Challenge.

Here is my take on the challenge and I used:
Image, Patterned Paper, Solid Color Paper, Die Cut, Glossy Accents, Button, Twine, Ribbon

Our sponsor this week is Fred She Said and the image is from a set called Ladybugs and Daisies.  I colored it with watercolors which I haven't used before.  I think it came out ok.  I used Glossy Accents on the ladybug dots and I made some dots in the center of the flower. I heat set the image and sealed it with with Krylon workable fixative but it still ran.  So that is how I colored the petals...with the printer ink!

Hopefully you can join us this week!
Hugs,
Kathi
