Birthday Sundaes correction

Ok so in my crazy world I am a day late and a dollar short as usual!  LOL!!  Last night I whipped up a card for what was last weeks challenge!  Ugh...but luckily the card applies to this weeks challenge  :)  It's just to a Birthday card...ok think I did that.  So here is the info again sorry!  Birthday Sundaes Challenge

So from my ancient stash of paper came the gingham from Scrapbook Wizard paper pack (said 2005 on the front!), purple Bazzil CS, purple brads, DJ Inkers present stamp colored with chalks and Crystal stickles, the Happy Birthday is an unmounted stamp that I've had for about 10 years and never used!  I wish I had written the co. name on it but I didn't, I ran a line of stickles down the left side of the HB, and the heart is a Fiskars punch.  I was trying to show the dimension in the second pic.

Thanks...again  :)    Kathi

Birthday card challenges

Hi all,

Here's a birthday card I've submitted for two challenges.  First is Birthday Sundaes where the challenge is to create a birthday card using you old neglected stash.  No problem...have PLENTY of that!!  LOL!!
And the challenge at Sweet Stampin Challenge is to use your Punches & Dies.

Hi all,

I've been busy, made a few things but haven't had time to post them!  I searched everywhere for a Storm Trooper SVG so I could make a card for an obsessed 6 year old and finally stumble upon this awesome card SVG.  Thank you Kristen from Katydid Creativity & Paper Adventures!! You can find the SVG and also a Darth Vader SVG  HERE .   He loved it!

I just love the shaped card!  Saved me a lot of time!!  :)    Happy Friday!!!   Kathi

Update and Thomas the Tank Birthday

**Update to my post Such sad news:  It's been a long month and a half but my daughter seems to be doing well but there are some of the girls who were much closer to them who continue to have a difficult time dealing with the loss.  The team as a whole has been doing well considering, some days better than others.  The team has been so busy with fundraising for the families including a Faculty vs. Girls soccer game.  Boy did those teachers want to win! But they didn't  ;)   Thanks to all who dropped me a line of concern and encouragement...it's very heartwarming and appreciated  :) ***

Now...on a much happier note my son Niko turned 2 this week.  He absolutely loves
Thomas the Tank so that was the theme this year.  Here are some of decorations I made.

The invitation, in hindsight I should have done the lettering in black but that's ok.  Thomas pic
is a JPG I found online.  The blue glitter CS is from Michaels 12x12 sheet.

I used foam rectangles for dimension.  I found the foam at the recycling place I go to.  I cut them in half,
one side had adhesive just peel the paper off.  The other side is smooth so I glued it to the paper.

So this is my Ahh haa moment  :)    1st pic is a cupcake wrapper, I then cut out Thomas and used it as the center of the 2 1/2 " scalloped circle layered on the black 2 3/4" now this circle fits perfectly on top of these plastic containers from Walamart's own brand of baby food.  There is a date stamp on the outside but it wipes off with a Clorox wipe.
And yes...I did separate the colors of  M+M's!  LOL!! Hey I'm a stickler for details  :)
So now I have orange, green and brown for Halloween projects!

These are packs of Trident gum, Thomas scrapbook paper, 1" scalloped circle and stamp by Verve.
Party hat is a free SVG from SVGcuts.com.  I used a piece of 12x12 dotted CS and filled the hat on the page (it was a little big for him) , #2 is a "Varsity" font cut with MTC and the Cricut.

Niko ready for cake!!

And lastly, his birthday sign which he loved.  I used the Street Sign cartridge cut at 6" and the 2 cut at 8".  Thomas is a MTC file found in the gallery.  I tweaked it some as it had way too many little pieces so I made them more solid.  Thomas is cut at 12".  And there are two holes punched in the top corners that I had balloons tied to.  So that's it for the Thomas birthday...any questions let me know!  Thanks for stopping by!

Such sad news....

Hi all...just bringing myself to create a post.  On August 31st two of my daughter's friends and soccer teammates were killed in a car accident.  Bella & Elana were only 16 and 17.  They did not have their seat belts on and the other two girls in the car who did have theirs on survived.  There was also another car with 5 other teammates right behind them and saw it all happen.  They tried to help the girls but couldn't.  Bella was starting her Sr. year but instead her funeral was on the first day of school.  It's still so unbelievable.  So I coped one of the best ways I know how...crafting.  I made the 7 girls involved composition book journals.  I know how therapeutic journaling can be and they need every tool they can get to help them through this tragic time in their lives.  The entire team and community have really shown their strength and ability to come together and help each other grieve.  I had just recently bought the My Favorite Things "Love you with all my Heart" stamp set and it was just so fitting for the journals.  My daughter suggested using Bella + Elana's favorite colors...blue and yellow.  The girls really liked them and I hope they help.
The color doesn't show well but it's a Periwinkle blue and it's very old from Making Memories yellow from Core`dinations.  The side was punched with a MS punch,  I used the Grand Nestabilities Grand Labels Eleven, MFT stamp.  I used chalks to color her in and put a little Jolee's crystal in her barrette.

So if ANYTHING good could possibly come from this tragedy it is that my daughter and I have become even closer.  I think she has helped me through this more than I've helped her.  How did she become so mature and strong?   I can't stop hugging her....  So please hug your children whether they are 3 or 30 and make sure they always wear their seat belts.    Hugs....Kathi

Birthday cards

Hi all!

Here's a few birthday cards I've thrown together.  Hope you like  :)

Ok I just LOVE this card!  Love the colors  :)  The paper is from We R Memory Keepers the stripes is called "Classy" and the heels/saying is from one sheet that I cut up called "Stiletto".  I used a MS border punch then inked all edges with black.  Then on each of the heels I heat set a Jolee's Swarovski element/crystal.

close up...the sentiment inside reads: May all your birthday wishes come true!
This is one of those pre-made pack of 8 cards from Michael's for $1.50.   I added the scalloped oval (an SVG) with the Verve bday phrase.  I used VersaMark on the edges then "painted" #680 Duo Red-Blue Pearl Ex powder on it.  The pic doesn't show what a beautiful iridescent shine it has.   I used foam dots underneath for dimension and added 2 Jolee's crystals for the eyes.
And here's a card for my brother who loves the Greenbay Packers (don't know why...we live in New England!!)  This was a MTC file I found in the gallery and didn't write down who made it but there were a couple in there.
That's it for today!  Thanks for stopping by!  :)      Kathi

Operation: Sticker Therapy

Hi All...another quick note tonight.  I just found this at Sassy Sites blog about a toddler with cancer and how stickers help her through the various invasive therapies she has to endure.  This brought tears to my eyes because I can't imagine my 20 month him having to go through that and he loves stickers too!  We use them all the time when we have to wait somewhere and he gets ancy.  So if anyone is interested in sending stickers or sticker books or if you would just like to check it out here is the link  http://sassysites.blogspot.com/2011/07/operation-sticker-therapy.html  Here in Providence we have Hasbro Children's Hospital...I wonder if they have different chapters of this organization?  I'll have to look into that  :)

Good Night...I'm going to kiss my healthy sleeping toddler and be thankful...

Another caddy, photo album & bday card

Ok...sorry if you're tired of seeing these but I just love making them and the recipients haven't complained  :)

Sprayed black & covered the outside with black paper, the "A" is an SVG alphabet called Delilah Alpha and I didn't label who made it (possibly Lettering Delights?)  if anyone knows please let me know!
I chalked the swirls in teal, pink and yellow.  I sprayed with Tsukineko "Sparkle" Shimmer Spritz then added my new fav - Jolee's hotfix jewels.  These are the Swarovski crystallized elements.
Here is one of the cheap 4x6 photo albums, I replaced the cover with a teal CS that I used a MS corner punch (I don't think the punches have identifying "names"), friends was cut from the Walk In My Garden cart and chalked in the same colors as above and sprayed with Shimmer Spritz, the flip flops are from the Car Decals cart and the flowers were chalked and sprayed with the Jolee's crystals.
And this is the bday card...she just got her 1st car so this was perfect!  Stamp set by Autumn Leaves.  Scalloped border punch on the bottom and sprayed with the Shimmer Spritz which is hard to see.

A few cards

Hi all...a few projects to post.  If only we could craft all day...so many ideas so little time  :)

Simple thank you card for a friend.   Verve heart die and stamp.
The candles are actually a piece of pewter with red paper behind then I squeezed some stickles in the openings.  Verve stamp and tied with red hemp.

A quick Stampin' Up! card...can't remember the name of the set but I know it's a much older one!  :)
I have a birthday gift I'll try to post this week!  Happy crafting!

Harry Potter/Slytherin t-shirts

My daughter Shianne is a hard core HP fan (which is probably an understatement!) so we went to the midnight opening of HP and the Deathly Hallows Pt 2.  For the occasion I made my first freezer paper T's.  They are so easy!  So Shi loves the Slytherin House so she found an image already on a tshirt and was able to download the jpg and transfer it to my MTC and then cut it out on the Cricut.  I had to do 3 coats of the green on black.

On the back I put our last name and her friends, and since she's a soccer goalie of course that's what she would be in Quidditch  :)

Ok so not only the t-shirts but they made brooms and wands out of sticks Shi brought back from Girl Scout camp!  Did I mention she's hardcore?  LOL!!  I give them credit because people were snickering and making comments and they just ignored them.  I always did encourage her to be herself and not care what other people thought  :)  I guess it worked !  So here's the end result.

RN, Teacher gifts and grad favors...whew!

Wow I can't believe it's been a month!  Whew!  Well I've been a little busy in all areas of my life  :)  I've altered several more of the little holders I found at the recycling place.  First was a special project that I made for the RN's at the assisted living facility where my client spent his final days.  He lost his long battle with cancer on June 8th.  The nurses and Hospice where so unbelievably compassionate and caring to such a wonderful man and friend.  It touched my heart so I wanted to make them something special.
before & after
paper by Imaginisce #000455 Loves Me/Weak in the Knees, heart #000457 run through the Cuttlebug with the pin dot folder then I touched all of the dots with Liquid Pearls, "Smallest Things" phrase by Verve as well as the matching "Classy Label" die/stamp, heart cut with the Verve "Jotted Heart" die.

filled with a lot of Avery sticky notes, pads, pens
matching card...oval by SVG.com "Nested Lacey Shapes", heart is a Spellbinders die, stamp by Verve

inside of card...stamp by Verve
Next I have teacher gifts for Denzel's teacher and her assistant.  She told me today I make the best gifts  :)  I saw this idea at Papertrey Ink  here.  There's a PDF with the journal questions.  I  tweaked and retyped mine in a different font.
paper by Basic Grey's Sweet Threads line swt-3278, Verve heart die, matching cardstock from DCWV stack, phrase stamp "all About You" set by Verve

butterfly stamp "Chicks Rule" set and matching die "Flutterby" by Verve
journal questions in an acetate pillow box and a "leatherette" journal (so is that faux leather?  LOL)

Teacher assistant gift...much simpler...I was running out of time and went to bed at 1:00 a.m.!  You know how it is when you want/need to finish something!  :)
filled Bath & Body products
I made these 1"x8" cellophane bag favors for his classmates.  Filled with skittles...yum!
Circles cut at 2.5" and 2.75" stamp by Stampendous, grad cap is an SVG I found online and forgot where I got it (sorry my bad!) and the font (2011) was loaded in my MTC.  The can was a large powdered formula can that I repurposed  :)
Sorry this was so long but I hope you found some good ideas or inspiration......Kathi  :)
