Color Challenge at JDE!

Hi Everyone!  Back to reality of a full work week, at least for me anyway!  Hopefully you'll be able to join us this week at Jackson's Digital Expressions for our Color Challenge using RED,WHITE & BLACK.
Personally, I love this color combo and they're my husband's favorite colors sooo it was the perfect opportunity to create an anniversary card for this challenge.

I was playing around in PhotoScape (a free photo editing program) and I set the image as "reverse black and white".  I just love how it looks!  I used the My Man II image and cropped it from the waist up.

Additional supplies:  Dies: Spellbinders and MFT, license plate letters by MFT, My Mind's Eye striped paper, red/white papers from stash and black CANDI dots.

I hope you'll join us at JACKSON'S DIGITAL EXPRESSIONS this week!  Thanks for stopping by!

I don't have an attitude problem...

I have a personality you can't handle!!  LOL!!  I LOVE this sentiment!  And it was perfect for a birthday card for a friend at work.  This goes along with the color challenge of Red, Black & White at Jackson's Digital Expressions.  I used the Friends Wine 2  image and, if you read my blog then you'll know, I cropped Ruby's head from the main image.  I can never use anything the way you're supposed to!  LOL!  The sentiment came with the Ruby Tidbits - attitude digi but I had to retype it so it fit on my card.

So here is my easel card and a pic of the main image that I cropped.

Details:  Spellbinder's circle/scalloped circle, corner rounder, image colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, Icicle Stickles on earrings/shirt, Glossy Accents on lips/glasses/wine glass, papers My Mind's Eye/stash and black CANDI dots.

Have a great week everyone!

November 2012 Papertrey Blog Hop!

Hi everyone and welcome to my entry at the November Papertrey Blog Hop!  I just love PTI stamps!  On my card I used the warm winter wishes stamp from the Holiday Button Bits Vol 3 set.  The snowman is a new release from A Day For Daisies called Snowball Scott.  I actually made him look more like a her though I think  :)  I was so tempted to add Stickles but thought that would clash with the lace and muted colors.  I'll just have to load up the next card!  LOL!

I colored him with chalks and added some shading with Prismacolor pencils.  It doesn't show but the white chalk is actually shimmery from my Pebbles Inc sets. I used the square die by Spellbinders and the Charming Oval die by Verve Stamps.  The heart is an old brad from the stash.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Shianne!

Today my "little girl" turn 18!  I don't know where the time has gone.  It seems like just yesterday we were having tea parties and reading bedtime stories.  I have been so blessed to have such a compassionate, intelligent and beautiful daughter.  I love you Shi!

Here is one of her cards.  She is obsessed with the BBC science fiction tv series Dr. Who.  I found this after doing a Google search and  this image came from  I don't know who to give credit to it didn't say on the image and it was pre-colored.

I used my new MFT Die-namics Fishtail Dies, papers from My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose 6x6 stack

Sentiment was a freebie by Paulette at Create with TLC

I can't even tell you how excited she was about this card!  It was too funny...she's such a geek  :)

Thanks for visiting today and I hope everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving here in the states has a wonderful day!  Remember those still affected by Sandy and I am thankful that we were safe and unscathed!

Angry Bird Birthday Card

Wow 3 posts in 3 days!  LOL!  This is a quick one though, I made this is for my cousin's son who turned 7.  I couldn't find an SVG to use so I used a jpg from Shery K Designs FREE printable Angry Bird Birthday Kit.  It's a great set!  The yellow digi paper is included in the set too.  I embossed the black circle with a Darice diamond folder.

I made a pocket inside for a gift card, money, etc.  The stamp is by Papertrey Ink.  Thanks for stopping by!

Zebra print & Bling Oh My!

Hi again!

I'm on a roll this week!  Another birthday at work this time my new office mate Jen.  She loves Zebra and pink so here's what I came up with...
Bugaboo digi "Attitude" colored with Prismacolor pencils + Gamsol, skin colored with Copics
Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Square, Star Dust Stickles on the edges, Black Diamond Stickles on the polka dots on dress and earrings, Glossy Accents on her glasses/lips/hair highlights
Jennifer cut with the Sizzix Sizzlits Script alphabet then coated with the Star Dust Stickles, Jolee's Hotfix Crystals which I've been adhering with the Glossy Accents.  I think that has a stronger bond.
Birthday sentiment from the Birthday Surprise set by Verve

Shrinky Dinks!

Remember when you were a kid and Shrinky Dinks were all the rage?  No...oh that just proves I'm old then!  LOL!  Well I remember and loved them so much, ahh such memories, thanks Mom!  I've used shrink plastic but I found the actual Shrinky Dink plastic, made for your printer, at Michael's.  Expensive, yes but with a coupon it's less painful  :)  This week at Jackson's Digital Expressions it's time to alter something!  One of my favorite challenges.  Your challenge is to alter some type of container (new or recycled) and the theme is Holiday or Winter.  I altered a Crystal Light container and I used the new release image Finishing Touch on Shrinky Dink plastic and cut it out with my Spellbinder's die.  I punched a snowflake and shrunk it with my heat gun and adhered it with Glossy Accents, love that stuff for attaching small elements!

BEFORE shrinking, colored with Prismacolor pencils and chalks.  The coloring is always darker once you shrink it.

AFTER shrinking

Come join us this week at JDE and challenge yourself to alter something.  Great idea for gift giving or packaging homemade treats!  Have a great week everyone!
